Our History
Raven Design was started in 1993 as an independent instructional design and development business. Our intention was to offer the sort of high quality training design and development services that were enjoyed by a few major corporates such as Price Waterhouse, Coopers & Lybrand Andersen Consulting etc.
Raven's first high profile project came from a colleague's recommendation to Bob Spence at the Commonwealth Bank. Bob was proposing a joint venture with St John Ambulance to build a e-Learning version of the Senior First Aid Course. Raven Design was contracted first to build a prototype and then go on to complete the full program. This course set some new benchmarks for interactive e-Learning and came second in the AITD Awards to a piece by Professor Harry Mouton. Pretty illustrious company!
Raven Design's second AITD Award came in 1999 with the Star City Casino's Dealer Training suite. The project was managed by Accenture and Raven was engaged to do the instructional design and build for table games including Roulette, Baccarat, Pai Gow, Sic Bo, Caribbean Stud and Big Wheel.
Over the years we have done a lot of work for NSW Health and in the course of that time Raven has received the prestigious NSW Director General of Health Award for the Blended Learning Program - Medical Terminology for Clerical Staff Working in a Health Environment. This is the top award for NSW Health and is hotly contested by projects from all disciplines.
In 2008 the module, "e-learning: Improving Multidisciplinary Paediatric CPR", which we designed and built for the Children's Hospital at Westmead, won a Baxter Award and was a finalist in the Director General's Award. The field that year was over 250 projects State wide.
